National Search Scheduled For Volleyball Post

University of La Verne Athletics announced today that head volleyball coach Marlon Sano has been relieved of his duties, effective immediately. A national search will be conducted to identify a new volleyball coach in the coming weeks.

"It is our intent to identify the best candidate pool from across the nation from which to select the next head coach to lead our volleyball program toward the future," said Director of Athletics Julie Kline.

La Verne is recognized for having a proud volleyball tradition that features three national titles (1981, 1982, 2001) and 27 All-America selections. The Leopard program has won a total of 22 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) championships including nine consecutive league titles from 2000 to 2008.

The University of La Verne is a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and fields 18 teams (nine men's and nine women's).   The athletic program is dedicated to developing scholar-athletes who demonstrate a commitment to academic and athletic success.
