Women's Water Polo falls to Regals on the road

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Jassmine Kezman scored three goals, Jasmine Bustamante scored twice, but a five-goal second quarter by the Cal Lutheran Regals put the University of La Verne water polo team down for good, falling 10-6 on the road.

Kezman, fresh off earning SCIAC Athlete of the Week honors, scored her eighth hat trick of the season. The freshman also added a pair of steals.

Bustamante gave the Leopards the opening 1-0 lead, scoring just over a minute and a half into the game. But it was all Cal Lutheran from there with the Reglas notching the next seven goals. 

Kezman scored her first goal of the game with a minute left in the first half. 

Victoria Mezack found the back of the goal once and added two steals. Bustamante finished with two steals of her own.

Emily Mena added one steal and goal Samantha Murillo totaled four steals. 

Christin Hirn led Cal Lutheran with three goals.

Next Game: The Leopards return home on Thursday for a pair of games. The Leopards open the day with an 11 a.m. game against Macalester and finish with a 4 p.m. SCIAC match-up against the SCIAC Beavers.
