LA VERNE, Calif. — Jassmine Kezman has been tabbed the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year the SCIAC office announced Thursday morning.
Kezman was also named First Team All-SCIAC and senior Jasmine Bustamante earned Second Team All-SCIAC honors.
Kezman led the SCIAC in goals, netting 69 total and 41 against SCIAC competition during her first season as a Leopard. She also ranked first in the conference with 79 points. She scored at least three goals in 16 contests this season with her season high coming in a six-goal effort in a 14-5 win over Occidental. She also led the Leopards in both steals with 35 and drawn exclusions with 31 and also dished out 10 assists.
Bustamante ended her tenure with the Leopards with the best season of her career. She ranked fourth in the SCIAC with 50 goals and ranked second on her squad with 35 steals. Her highlight of the year came when she scored the game-winner with one second left on the clock in an 8-7 win over Saint Francis Brooklyn.
The Leopards ended the 2018 season with an 8-16 overall record and finished sixth in the SCIAC standings at 5-9.
