LA VERNE, CA – Today's Senior day was bitter sweet as the Leopards fell to the Sagehens with a 10-17 loss on Saturday, April 15 at Las Flores Park.

The Leopards celebrated 8 seniors, with significant contributions from senior Nanea Mattson with 4 goals on the day, and another goal each from pair of seniors Jassmine Kezman and Abby Nunez.

The Leo's came out to an early 1-0 lead scoring off of a penalty shot quickly in the first quarter, however the Sagehens responded with the next three goals in a row, and ended the quarter ahead by four goals.

The second quarter was jam packed with scoring, notching 8 goals earned in total, favoring the Sagehens with a score of 5-9 to end the first half. An exciting long goal was scored by senior Nanea Mattson right at the buzzer, igniting roaring excitement from the home crowd.

Despite coming up short on the match up, the Leo's finished strong, outscoring the Sagehens in the fourth quarter 3-2 with goals from 3 different La Verne athletes, Nanea Mattson, Abby Nunez, and Brianna Zapata.

The Leopards record is now 9-14 on the season, and 5-5 in the SCIAC. They will return to action on Wednesday 4/19 as they travel to the University of Redlands to take on the Bulldogs at 7pm.
