#25 Ranked Leopards Defeat Cal Lutheran On The Road

Thousand Oaks, California – The University of La Verne baseball team opened its series with California Lutheran University with a victory over the Kingsmen 11-2 Friday afternoon in Thousand Oaks, California.

The victory moved the Leopards record to 20-4-1 and 12-1 IN SCIAC play. The Leopards, ranked #25 in the country controlled the game on the mound and at the batter's box. The Leopards recorded eighteen hits on the day and had ten total RBIs as a team in the victory. Eight different Leopards had hits in the game, as Anthony Salcedo and Tanner Siffert both led the team with three hits. DH Malachi Francois scored three runs for the Leopards.


Sean Holt pitched seven innings for the Leopards with two strikeouts and Ethan Galindo pitched two innings for the Leopards striking out two batters. Both pitchers only gave up a combined nine hits and two runs in the game. The Leopards held Cal Lutheran scorless through the first seven innings of play.


The Leopards, currently ranked #25 in the NCBWA Top 25 Division III College Baseball Rankings, will take on the Kingsmen tomorrow at Ben Hines Field on Alumni Day as the legacy of Ben Hines is honored. Doubleheader action will start tomorrow morning at 11:00
