Enoch Scores Season-High Against Bulldogs

LA VERNE, CA — Sinai Enoch finished with a season-high in points and made a career-high five three-pointers but the University of La Verne men's basketball team couldn't slow Redlands in the paint and fell to the Bulldogs 80-58.

Enoch finished with 24, tying his career-high and added four rebounds and one assist. The sophomore drained three of his three-pointers in the first half alone.

Jordan Allen finished with eight points, two rebounds, and one assist. Jarid Taylor led the Leopards with six rebounds and added five points, three assists, and a steal.

Both teams struggle to get into a rhythm early combining for nine turnovers in the opening six minutes of action. The Bulldogs continually tried to work the ball inside but tough defense by the Leopards kept the game close early.

After a slow start offensively by the Leopards, Enoch added a spark when he drained a three to cut La Verne's deficit to five points. The sophomore followed it up with a pair of free throws on the Leopards' next offensive opportunity. A couple of possessions later, Enoch again showed off his range, this time sinking a corner three to cut Redlands' lead to 18-14 with just over eight minutes to play in the first half. He added his third long ball of the period with five and a half minutes left in the half to slow a Bulldogs' run.

Isaiah Knox added to the Leopards' three-point shooting late in the first half to get La Verne to within ten points of Redlands' lead.

The Leopards worked hard for shots in the low post but had trouble getting the ball to fall in the opening 20 minutes.

Enoch got started right back where he left off, knocking down his fourth three-pointer of the game on the opening shot of the second half.

But Redlands came out hot and went on a 13-2 run midway through the half to take a 61-37 lead with 12:29 left to play and pulled away for good.

David Menary led the Bulldogs with 17 points and Griffin Barker totaled 13 rebounds and 12 points. Redlands did damage down low finishing with 46 points in the paint and outrebounded the Leopards 45-32.

The Bulldogs improve to 9-3 overall and 2-1 in conference action. The Leopards fall to 0-11 overall and 0-3 in the SCIAC.
