Allen, Enoch Lead Leopards at Occidental

LOS ANGELES — Jordan Allen came out hot scoring the first three-pointer of the game and dominated off the glass with seven rebounds, but the University of La Verne's men's basketball team couldn't come back and beat Occidental College falling to the Tigers 86-63. 

Allen added fourteen points, two assists, and one steal. The junior along with sophomore Sinai Enoch led the Leopards' offensive effort. Enoch finished with 21 points off of 9-13 shooting. 

The Leopards outrebounded Occidental 34-22 and limited the Tigers to just eight second-chance points. Myles Jones led all players with eight rebounds, seven defensively and Jarid Taylor grabbed five rebounds including four on the defensive end.

Freshman Paul Antonis added a highlight for the Leopards in the second half when he showcased his speed, ran down Occidental's Sydney Shipp, and blocked his breakaway attempt. Antonis finished with a three-pointer and an assist.

The Tigers were led by Shipp's 23 points, Caleb Yellin-Flaherty's 23 points, and Ryan Kaneshiro's 11 assists. 

The Tigers move to 11-3 overall and 3-2 in conference games. The Leopards drop to a 0-13 overall and 0-5 in the SCIAC.

La Verne dribbles into their next game Saturday, January 18 on Chapman's court at 2 p.m.
