The University of La Verne men's track team traveled to Spokane Washington this past weekend to compete in the Whitworth Invitational at Whitworth University. The weekend would see the Leopards achieve many personal bests and set various personal records. Coach Kevin Reid was extremely pleased with his teams' performance in Spokane. "It was a good weekend at a great track facility in Spokane. I'm excited for the student-athletes to compete on a facility of this level. The Podium USA is one of the newest premier tracks in the country."
Highlights:
TK Berhe (5000m) PR of 15:18.56. #4 all-time ULV 5000m performance
Michael Sahagun (5000m). PR of 14:57.62. #2 all-time ULV 5000m performance, ULV Indoor TF 5000m ULV School Record
Dante Carter (60m, 200m). Personal Bests of 7.31 for 60m and 23.39 for 200m
Ivan Estrada (60m, 200m). Solid and Consistent performances of 7.38 and 23.16 for 60m and 200m
Zackery Deering-Haddix. (HJ) High Jump performance of 1.96m. Consistent with past performances continues to be the top Male High Jumper in the NCAA DIII West Region
Zachary Reid (60m High Hurdles). With a win in his preliminary heat and a performance that will move up the NCAA Qualification list, he also made his event final and finished 4th in the FINAL.
