Head Track And Field Coach Kevin Reid To The USATF National Team At The 2022 World Athletics Champions

Indianapolis, Indiana — The USATF national team coaching and support staff for the 2022 World Athletics Championships Oregon22 was announced on April 20th. The staff will join athletes selected to represent Team USATF in Eugene, Oregon from July 15 through July 29, 2022. University of La Verne Track & Field Head Coach, Kevin Reid, has been selected as one of four assistant coaches for the United States' Men's Track and Field national team at the 2022 World Athletics Championships Oregon22.


Coach Reid will coach the jumps and multis units and is set to join the athletes selected to represent Team USATF in Eugene, Oregon from July 15th through July 29th. Reid brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team as he has been coaching at the collegiate and professional levels for over thirty years. As a Head Coach, he has won fourteen Collegiate National Championships and has been awarded National Coach of the Year honors fifteen times. In 2014, he was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame. At the professional level, he has coached at three Olympic Games and several World Championships. The high points of his Olympic experience are Olympic medals in the decathlon in 1992 (Dave Johnson-Bronze), 2004 (Bryan Clay-Silver), and 2008 (Bryan Clay-Gold). In addition to his coaching, he is active in leadership at every level as he serves on executive Track & Field committees at the NAIA, NCAA, and USATF levels. Currently, he serves as the Chair of the USATF Coaches Advisory Committee and works with the USATF Combined Events Executive committee as well as the USATF High Performance and Development committees. He is a certified coach with both the USATF and the USTFCCCA and has also had the opportunity to serve on several USATF coaching staffs throughout his career.
