LA VERNE, CA — Brandon Pon scored a win in the 1000 yard freestyle as the Leopards competed in their final SCIAC home meet of the year against Chapman and Pomona-Pitzer Saturday afternoon.

Pon continued his dominance in the distance events for the Leopards. The La Verne record holder in the 1000 yard and 1650 freestyle won the 1000 yard freestyle coming in with a time of 9:47.77. Pon is undefeated this year in the event in dual meets. In the 500 yard freestyle, Pon took second with a time of 4:48.10, just behind Pomona-Pitzer's Paddy Baylis who won at 4:47.96. Pon's times in both events were lifetime dual meet bests.

Trevor Ichiki took fourth in the 500 free at 5:03.58 and fourth in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:33.42.  Miguel Espinosa followed right behind in fifth in the 1000 free with a time of 10:59.88.

Rachel Fox had a solid race in the 1000 yard freestyle as well, taking third in the women's race with a final time of 11:27.40. She also added a four place finish with a time of 5:38.36 in the 500 yard freestyle.

Kayla Yip added a top three finish of her own in the sprints, posting a time of 25.83 in the 50 yard freestyle and added a fourth place finish in the 100 butterfly touching at 1:01.86.

In the 100 yard backstroke, Alondra Camacho took fourth touching at 1:03.68. Camacho added a fifth place finish with a time of 2:19.25 in the 200 yard backstroke.

Gavin Sato took fifth in the 100 yard breaststroke touching at 1:09.63. Lorenzo DeLeon took fourth in the 400 yard individual medley at 4:26.27.
