LA VERNE, CA — Brandon Pon has been named the SCIAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced on Monday.

Pon earns the distinction after swimming lifetime dual meet bests in the 1000 yard freestyle and 500 yard freestyle in the Leopards' SCIAC meet against Pomona-Pitzer and Chapman on Saturday. Pon won the 1000 freestyle with a time of 9:47.77 and took second in the 500 free with a time of 4:48.10. Pon is undefeated in the 1000 yard freestyle in dual meets this season.

The senior owns the  La Verne records in the 1000 freestyle and 1650 freestyle.
