CLAREMONT, CA — The University of La Verne swimming and diving teams competed in a tri-meet Saturday at Axelrod Pool against Cal Lutheran and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps
Kayla Yip had a pair of top-three finishes for the Leopards. In the 200 yard butterfly, Yip scored a second place finish with a time of 2:19.43. The senior added a third place finish in the 100 yard butterfly, posting a time of 1:01.90.
Freshman Alondra Camacho took fourth in the 200 yard backstroke touching at 2:21.97. Camacho also took fourth in the 200 yard individual medley cruising in at 2:24.92
Off the boards, senior Sara Bartelt took third in the three-meter dive with a score of 181.75. Junior Roxanna Ramirez-Recinos took third in the 200 yard freestyle finishing with a time of 2:05.27.
Samantha Szok added a third place finish for the Leopards in the 500 yard freestyle. The freshman clocked in at 5:41.62. Rachel Fox followed right behind in fourth place at 5:46.06.
The Leopards' women's' 200 yard freestyle relay team made up of Recinos, Fox, Skylar Bowles, and Yip posted a third place finish at 1:46.73.
"We had season bests by nine swimmers even though it was a down poor and 48 degrees," said head coach Pat Skehan. "A lot of the freshman had big drops so we are excited about SCIACs."

The Leopards conclude their SCIAC dual meets Saturday at Caltech when they compete against the Beavers. Diving begins a 10:30 a.m. with swimming set to start at 11 a.m.
