COLORADO SPRINGS — Brandon Pon has been named a 2019 Scholar All-American Honorable Mention the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced.

The CSCAA recognizes students who have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and competed at their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships as first team recipients and selects students who have similarly achieved a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a "B" time standard or competed at an NCAA Regional or Zone Diving qualifier as honorable mentions.
Pon capped off his incredible Leopards career with an All-SCIAC performance in the 1650 freestyle at the 2019 SCIAC Championships. Pon made NCAA qualifying times in three of his four seasons at La Verne, earned four All-SCIAC awards, and leaves La Verne as the school record holder in the 1650 freestyle, 1000 freestyle, 500 freestyle, and as part of the 4x800 freestyle relay team. Pon graduated with a degree in criminology.
The selections were drawn from 190 colleges and universities across all divisions with a total of 1,221 first-team selections and 890 honorable mentions. A tally of 282 teams placed at least one individual on the first or second teams.
