LA VERNE, CA — Jasmine Xiong has been tabbed SCIAC Athlete of the Week the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced Monday.

Xiong had a big game for the Leopards, scoring a game-high 21 points including four three-points in an 82-68 win over Westcliff. The guard came alive in the fourth quarter, scoring 16 of her points in the period as the Leopards outscored the Warriors 26-12 in the frame. The Lemoore, CA native also added a game-high four steals with four rebounds, three assists, and a block.

The University of La Verne women's basketball team started the year 2-1 and looks to extend its win streak to three games when they host Whittier College on Wednesday at 7 p.m in their SCIAC opener.
