LA VERNE, CA — Dejanee Gill has been named SCIAC Women's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced.

Gill had an outstanding showing in La Verner's only game of the week. The junior finished with three steals, blocked one shot, and grabbed eight rebounds, five on the defensive end, in the Leopards' 70-61 win over the Poets. Gill also scored seven points and dished out two assists.

Gill is the fourth Leopard to earn SCIAC Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week honors. Destinee Garcia picked up defensive honors earlier this year and both Jasmine Xiong and Jazzlyn Johnson both earned offensive honors.
