CLAREMONT, CA — The University of La Verne women's soccer team lost 3-0 to the first place Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens on Saturday. It was the final game of the season for the Leos as they finish the 2021 season 3-13 overall and 3-9 in SCIAC play.

La Verne goalie McKenzie Maggiore had a busy day in goal and she did her best to keep the Sagehens at bay. She was able to save seven of the 10 shots on goal.

La Verne did not have possession of the ball for most of the game and was outshot 21-3 in total shots and 10-1 in shots on goal. Julia Gomez, Ana Hernandez, and Alyssa Moran each took a shot for the Leos, with Gomez being the only one to be on goal.

Amanda Khu broke the scoreless tie with a goal in the 30th minute for Pomona-Pitzer. The Sagehens added goals in the 69th minute and the 78th minute two close out the game.
