Volleyball standout Randi Taylor-Toomay was selected as the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Female Athlete of the Week for the week of September 17-23 as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

A senior outside hitter from Glendora, Taylor-Toomay averaged 20.6 kills in her three matches during the week while also reaching the 1,000-kill milestone for her career.

Taylor-Toomay began the week with a 19-kill effort against AVCA No. 8 Cal Lutheran as the Leopards dropped a five-set decision to the Regals on Sept. 18 in Thousand Oaks.  During the match against Cal Lutheran she reached the 1,000 career-kill mark.

She followed that effort with a match-high 21 kills and 9 digs in a 3-1 triumph at Redlands on Sept. 21.  Taylor-Toomay closed out the week with a 25-kill performance (match-high) in La Verne's 3-1 win at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Sept. 22 as the Leopards improved to 10-2 on the season.
