Occidental opened the match scoring the first three points, but the Leopards countered with a 10-0 scoring run which included three service aces from Catie Logan and three kills from Randi Taylor-Toomay.  La Verne extended its lead and would open a comfortable 20-9 advantage.  Up 22-13, the Leos took the final three points culminating on a Kendall Kraiss kill.

The Leopards continued their momentum in the second set, opening a 8-2 margin in the early stages.  Oxy would eventually get within two at 17-15 on a kill from Stephanie Gann, but La Verne reeled off three straight points - culminating on a kill from Brittany Yaxley - for a 20-15 cushion.  The Leos closed the frame with consecutive kills from Taylor-Toomay to take a 2-0 set lead.

La Verne never trailed in the third set, earning an early 5-1 lead.  A kill from Alyssa Mort got the Tigers to within a point at 12-11, but the Leos would again turn back the visitors as back-to-back kills from Logan and Kraiss extended the lead to 18-13.  A 4-0 run later pushed the Leopard lead to 22-15, and at 23-17, Oxy committed consecutive attack errors to end the match.

As a team, the Leopards recorded 7 total blocks and held a 44-35 edge over the Tigers in digs.
