The University of La Verne baseball squad begins SCIAC Pool Play with a pair of home games on Saturday, opening with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at 11:00 am followed by an afternoon tilt with conference leader Cal Lutheran scheduled for a 3:00 pm start.
Both contests on Saturday will take place at Rio Hondo College.
The Leopards will also hold Senior Day on Saturday, as the 11-player senior class will be honored prior to their game against CMS.
La Verne (19-15, 13-11 SCIAC) finished the initial portion of SCIAC play tied for fifth place in the league standings, entering Pool Play as the No. 6 seed. After Saturday, the Leos will play their remaining two games on the road at Pomona-Pitzer (April 28) and Whittier (April 30).
