Okimura, Lovrensky Set To Compete At NCAA Championships

The duo of junior Marc Okimura and sophomore Madeline Lovrensky will represent the University of La Verne at this week's NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships.

Both Leopards qualified after strong performances at the SCIAC Championships.  Lovrensky will compete in both the 100 and 200 yard backstroke events along with the 50 freestyle with Okimura competing in both the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke in addition to the 100 yard butterfly.

Lovrensky posted a conference meet record in the women's 100-yard back at 55.95 and would later capture the conference crown in the 200 back to earn a SCIAC double in the two events for the second consecutive year.

Okimura earned a pair of second place finishes in the men's 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events, garnering an NCAA "A" Cut qualifying time in the 100 breast at 55.86.

The NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships will be held March 20-23 at Conroe Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas.
