THOUSAND OAKS, CA — The University of La Verne women's water polo team opened the 2019 season at the Tina Finali Invitational at Cal Lutheran.

Sonoma State 14, Cal Lutheran 5

Emilie Eastman led the Leopards with three goals in the opener. Kelly Riedell and Ilene Guerrero each scored once in the game.

Returning All-American Shelby Garcia grabbed 11 saves.

Annika Erickson led Sonoma State with six goals.

No. 22 Cal Baptist 11, La Verne 

Returning All-American and reigning SCIAC Newcomer of the Year Jassmine Kezman led La Verne with three goals against the Lancers. 

Alicia Thompson, Kelly Riedel, and Sage Nowell each scored once.

Garcia totaled 11 save and added one steal.

The Leopards next open SCIAC play against at Redlands on Wednesday, February 27 at 7 p.m.
