HAYWARD, CA — Jassmine Kezman scored four times but the Leopards couldn't overcome a big second quarter by Cal State East Bay, falling to the Pioneers 13-8.

- Kezman's four goals led all players.
- Ilene Guerrero scored twice and added an assist.
- Victoria Mezack dished out one assist and scored once.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Leopards went go-for-goal with CSUEB in the first quarter, ending the frame tied 4-4.
- The Pioneers took advantage from there, going on a 9-3 run over the next two periods to take command of the game.
- La Verne blanked CSUEB in the final quarter but couldn't muster enough offense for a comeback.

- Kezman leads the SCIAC with 50 total goals and 58 points.
- Mezack leads the conference with 23 assists.
