Leopards Go Undefeated In Claremont Convergence Tournament

La Verne, California

The University of La Verne women's water polo team enterted the 2022 Claremont Convergence Tournament as not only a competitior as as also one of the hosts of the tournament. The tournament featured twenty seven teams from across the country, competing over two days. The Leopards, first place in the SCIAC, showed why they are one of the top water polo teams in the nation with their performaces in the two day tournament. The Leopards opened the Convergence Tournament with a 12-7 victory over Augustana College. The second game of the opening day, the Leopards defeated Concordia University Irvine in a close match by the score of 13-12. Day two of the Convergence Tournament would see the Leopards put on a prominent offensive display and a dynamic defensive display in two victories on the day. The Leopards defeated Macalester College by a score 15-5 and Penn State Behrend 16-4. The Leopards closed the tournament with an undefeated record of 4-0. Head coach Pat Beemer was very pleased with the play of his team. "I am very pleased by how the squad performed this weekend. We were able to fine tune some of our power play and also get a good understanding of our rotations."

The Leopards return to action March 9th Cal Lutheran.
