Leopards Take On Nationally Ranked Brown University

La Verne, California - The University of La Verne women's water polo team welcomed nationally ranked Brown University to the La Verne Aquatics Center for a home contest. Brown University, ranked #21 in the national polls, provided the Leopards with the opportunity to build momentum outside of SCIAC play as they continue their road towards a SCIAC championship. The game started with heavy rain showers and the opening period of play saw the Leopards fall behind early as the first quarter ended with La Verne trailing Brown 5-1. The second period of play would be closer in score, as the Leopards scored two goals during the period, entering halftime down 8-5. A closely contested third quarter, both teams scored three goals each bringing the score to 11-6 as the fourth quarter of play began. La Verne would fight valiantly to close the gap during the fourth quarter of play but would fall to Brown University by a final score of 15-8. Jassmine Kezman and Dani D'Andrea led the Leopards with three goals each on the day. Goalie Kate Carlyle had seven saves in the contest.

The Leopards return to action Wednesday at home with a 4:00 pm contest against Chapman University and a 7:00 pm contest against Occidental College.
