Leopards Score At The Buzzer To Steal Victory On The Road

Orange, CA - The University of La Verne women's soccer team rallied, scoring two goals in the final minutes of the game to notch their first SCIAC win of the season over Chapman University. The Leopards scored a game-winner with one second left on the clock, giving the leopards their first conference win of the season.

Both teams would be scoreless early through the second half of play until Nikki Namdar of Chapman gave the Panthers their only goal in the 63rd minute of the match. The Leopards had thirteen shots in comparison to the Panther's eight, creating the opportunity for them to steal a victory on the road. La Verne's Alyssa Moran tied the game late in the 87th minute off of an assist from Sarah Ramirez. Ramirez then sealed the victory for the Leopards off of an assist from Moran, scoring the game-winning goal with one second left on the game clock, giving the Leopards a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Panthers. McKenzie Maggiore had one save for the Leopards in the win. 


University of La Verne's will take on UC Santa Cruz at Ortmayer Stadium Monday at 11:00 am.
