La Verne, CA - The University of La Verne women's soccer team hosted UC Santa Cruz for a non-conference matchup Monday morning. The Leopards came into the game looking to build off of their last-second victory over Chapman University on the road Saturday. UC Santa Cruz entered the game having only lost two games on the season.
As the two teams battled it out, the Leopards and the Banana Slugs would take took a total of 7 shots each for the game. Forward Brooklyn Daley led the Leopards with two very close shots but could not convert. At the 88:39 mark, Amanda Scott scored the first and only goal of the game, giving UC Santa Cruz the lead. Time would expire on the Leopards as they tried to rally, falling by a final score of 1-0.
The Leopards return to action when they take on Occidental College at Ortmayer Stadium this Saturday at 7:00 PM.
