LA VERNE, CA- The women's soccer team hosted the Caltech Beavers tonight at Ortmayer Stadium. With both teams seeking out their second conference win, they landed in a tie, ending the game 1-1.
Senior forward Sarah Ramirez rocked the field, finding the 18-yard-box and the back of the net after 37 seconds of game time. The Leopards transpired immediate action on the scoreboard tonight, 1-0. From there, both teams went back and forth for a slower middle first half.
Leopard goalie for the night, Abigail Macedo, only let one out of five Beaver shot attempts hit the back of the net ending the half tied, 1-1.
The second half was scoreless, but the Leopards drove all half long, landing another two shot attempts for Leopard Ramirez, and a shot attempt each by Brianna Wong, Alison Flores, Michelle Benavides, and Shebie Mueller. Ramirez held possession of the ball in Beavers territory for the majority of the last fifteen minutes of the second half. Without any shots getting past all goalies for the second half, the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
