Leopards Battle Stags In Road SCIAC Match-Up

Claremont, CA - The University of La Verne men's soccer team traveled to Claremont, California for a road match against the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags. The Leopards entered the contest on a two-game winning streak, looking to further establish themselves in the SCIAC standings at Pritzlaff Field.


The Leopards would strike first when Owen Osagiede scored a goal for LA Verne at the 25:51 mark of the first half. Goalies Matthew Logan Reese had four saves for the Leopards in the first half of play.


The Stags would tie the game near the end of the first half as both teams entered intermission tied at one apiece. The game would remain tied until the 63:22 mark when CMS would score a goal and take the lead. The Leopards had a chance to tie the game at the 88:36 mark with a twenty-five-yard free kick but were unable to convert. Time would catch the Leopards as they would fall to CMS by the final score of 2-1. The loss puts the Leopards at 1-1 in SCIAC play.


The Leopards return home to host Pomona-Pitzer on September 21st. The game starts at 7 pm.
