Leopards Fall Short Against Redlands

By Cyanna Rosa

La Verne, CA - The University of La Verne men's soccer team faced The University of Redlands Bulldogs this evening at Ortmayer Stadium.

In the first five minutes of the game, the Leopards had possession in Bulldog territory and Senior midfielder, Owen Osagiede, rushed the goal, threatening the Bulldogs with two shot attempts just two minutes apart. The first half was defense-heavy for the Leopards, with three saves by goalkeeper Logan Reese. The Leopards ended the half trailing 0-1.

Sophomore goalie, Reese, had another active half following the first, with another six attempted shots by the Bulldogs. Within the 60:26 and 61:14, the Bulldogs threw a shot attempt and two back-to-back corner kicks to Reese, but he stayed on his toes. Reese ended the game with four saves for the Leopards and a final score of 0-2.

La Verne has a packed weekend ahead, facing Cal Lutheran at Ortmayer Stadium this Saturday at 7 pm and hosting UC Santa Cruz on Sunday at 7 pm.
