La Verne, CA - The University of La Verne men's soccer team took the field at Ortmayer Stadium tonight looking to avenge a tie in last night's game, welcoming the Banana Slugs of US Santa Cruz. 

The Leopards and Banana Slugs both kept each other at bay for the majority of the first half as the score remained tied at 0-0. UC Santa Cruz scored the first goal of the game at the 21:55 mark of the first half. The Leopards would enter the half trailing by a score of 1-0.

The Leopards were able to attempt two shots in the second half of action and did not allow the Banana Slugs to score a goal. Hector Duenas-Pena would have seven saves in the game but the Leopards would fall by a score 1-0.

La Verne will take on Caltech Wednesday in Pasadena, California, on October 12 at 4:00 PM.
