Leopards And Stags Go To The Final Horn

Claremont, CA - The University of La Verne men's water polo team took on the Claremont Mudd-Scripps Stags at the Axelrood Aquatics Center looking to claim their first conference victory of the season.

The Leopards entered the game seeking their second win of the week, after closing out the Gary Troyer tournament with a victory this past weekend. Leopards Gage Unsoeld and Alam Chang scored two goals in the first half of play to bring the Leopards within five points at halftime, trailing 7-2. The start of the second half of play would see the Leopards score two goals in the third quarter and five in the fourth quarter. The five goals scored in the quarter were part of a rally to get back in the game for the Leopards, but the rally would fall short as LA Verne lost to Claremont-M-S by a final score of 11-9.

Peter Trinh led the Leopards in goals scored with three scored in the match. Joe Lamson had 9 saves for La Verne.

The Leopards return to action Saturday, October 8th at Caltech. The Match starts at 11:00 AM.
