La Verne, CA - The University of La Verne took on Whittier College for this afternoon's SCIAC water polo match-up. The Leopards were looking to get ahead in the SCIAC standings with today's contest.

The University of La Verne came out strong with Alam Chang scoring two quick goals to put the Leopards up early. Whittier College bounced back with three goals of their own. After a hard-fought first quarter, the Leopards were down 10-6 at the half. In the second half, the Leopards scored four more goals but allowed six more goals on the defensive side of the net. Despite a valiant effort, La Verne lost a hard-fought match by the final score of 16-10. 

The Leopards were led by Graduate student James Cano with a game high four goals. Alam Chang contributed with three goals in the match.

The University of La Verne will take on The University of Redlands, Saturday October 22 at 11:00 AM for a home SCIAC matchup.
