Redlands, CA - The University of La Verne women's basketball team traveled to face off against the University of Redlands for their final regular season game.

La Verne clinched the #1 seed in conference play but looked for a win tonight, as Redlands could be a potential opponent in the conference championship. The Leopards struggled early against Redlands; La Verne found themselves down by 18 points at halftime. After making adjustments, the Leopards got their identity back after pulling multiple stops together, holding the Bulldogs to 27 points in the second half;11 points in the fourth quarter. The Leopards would close off the regular season with a win, with a score of 82-75. Senior guard Jazzlyn Johnson led the Leopards with 21 points off the bench. Chiara Brown had big baskets at the end of the game, adding yet another double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds. Dejanee Gill showed her experience on their court with her leadership plays, adding 16 points and seven rebounds. Head coach Jason Pruitt talked about his team's performance, particularly on the defensive side of the court. "If I look at the whole year, it's probably the most disappointing first-half defensive performance that we've had. We just did not do a good job. But I give our team credit, we bounced back, and we played our fannies off! There is no such thing is an ugly win.  Every win is a milestone from here on for our program. The majority of our roster got an opportunity to play tonight in the first half. Sometimes it works and sometimes as a staff we need to adjust. Thank good for letting both teams out the contest with just a few a scrapes and bruises.  We will take tomorrow off and get back in the gym on Monday to correct our wrongs!"

The Leopards will host the first round of SCIAC play Thursday, February 23, against Cal Lutheran University
