The University of La Verne serves as host to the inaugural West Cup Golf Tournament, held Monday and Tuesday (March 25-26) at Goose Creek Golf Club in Mira Loma.
Participating teams will play 36 holes on Monday and wrap up on with a final round of 18 holes on Tuesday. The field consists of eight teams ranked in the Top 25 of the current Golfstat Division III rankings to provide a competitive environment.
"We are very excited to host the inaugural West Cup at the Goose Creek Golf Club," said La Verne head coach Chris Davis. "Goose Creek is a championship course in ever regard and the staff has done an excellent job preparing the golf course for the tournament"
Representing the Leopard squad for the two-day tournament will be Derek Zachman, Paul Gomez, Kelby Scharmann, Andre Bedard, and Michael Bonicatto.
La Verne, which is coming off a seventh place finish last weekend at the prestigious Jekyll Invitational (March 15-17) is currently ranked 11th in both the Division III Golf World/Nike Golf Top 25 and Golfstat.com Head-to-Head rankings.
