Four members of the University of La Verne golf squad were named to the 2013 All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Team as announced by the league office.
Senior Derek Zachman, junior Keven Holliday and sophomore Kelby Scharmann were each named to the All-SCIAC First Team with freshman Paul Gomez earning a Second Team selection.
Zachman earns his second consecutive All-SCIAC selection after finishing in the Top 3 in each of the conference tournaments. He placed third in the SCIAC #1 Tournament in February and would later earn a second place finish at the SCIAC #2 prior to tying for second at the 54-hole SCIAC Championships.
Holliday re-emerged as one of the conference top performances, finishing fourth at the SCIAC #2 Tournament while also tying for second overall at the conference championships. Scharmann was a consistent performer for the Leopards throughout the season as he took third at the SCIAC #2 and finished in a tie for fourth at the SCIAC Championships.
Gomez enjoyed a productive campaign in his first season with the Leopards by finishing 16th, 5th and 12th, respectively in the SCIAC #1, SCIAC #2 and SCIAC Championships.
La Verne captured its seventh consecutive league crown and will next compete at the NCAA Division III Golf Championships in Destin, Florida.
