Whittier, CA - The University of La Verne men's basketball team traveled to Whittier, California for a road SCIAC contest. 

The Leopards came into today's game looking to bounce back from a home loss to Occidental College earlier this week. Another conference win for the Leopards would have elevated them to another level in the SCIAC standings. A duel early in the contest, the Poets began to control the game midway through the first half. Casey Knudson led the Leopards in scoring in the first half with 6 points as La Verne trailed 57-29.

La Verne would outscore Whitter 46-35 in second-half action but would not be able to overcome the deficit, falling to Whittier 92-75. Saafir Moore, Kyler Harvey and Brian Adams each led the Leopards in scoring with 18, 16 and 13 points respectively. Harvey also added 6 rebounds in the game.

The Leopards return to action this Wednesday, January 25th at The Tents against Caltech. The game starts at 7:00 PM PST.
