Claremont, CA - The University of La Verne men's basketball team traveled across town to take on the Stags of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

The Leopards came into the game looking to complete a season sweep of the nationally-ranked Stags. The Leopards started off the new year by defeating the then #11 ranked Stags at The Tents. Seeking to put together another victory over CMS, La Verne started out the game by taking an early lead over CMS and maintaining that lead until the five-minute mark of the first half of play. The Leopards would enter halftime trailing the Stags by a score of 35-25. 

The Leopards started second-half action seeking to cut into the CMS lead but were met by counters to keep them at bay. The Leopards would fight valiantly to gain control of the game but would fall to CMS on the road by a final score of 71-56. Brian Adams led La Verne with a near double-double, having 21 points and nine rebounds.

La Verne returns to action on Saturday at Chapman at 4:00 PM.
