La Verne, CA - The Leopards hosted a midweek SCIAC battle at The Tents as they battled Cal Lutheran for the second time this season.

Seeking to position themselves for a post-season run, the Leopards looked to shake up the SCIAC standings as the conference season nears an end. From the onset, the Leopards battled back and forth early with Cal Lutheran, as Lutheran made shots early to take an early lead over the Leopards. The Leopards were able to institute a run as the half ended, entering the locker room down by a score of 50-43.

Second-half action would start with La Verne locking down defensively and getting key contributions from key reserves and starters. LA Verne would cut the lead to three points nearly midway through the second half of play but would be unable to gain control of the game as they would fall to Cal Lutheran by a final score of 99-76. Brian Adams and Tyler Matthews each led the Leopards with 17 and 15 points each. Kyler Harvey had a near double-double with 11 points and 8 rebounds. 

The Leopards return to action Saturday at The Tents against Pomona Pitzer. Tip-off is at 4:00 PM.
