LA VERNE, CA - Senior middle Kari Esseff led the La Verne Leopards (13 kills, .632; 1 block solo and 6 block assists) to a volleyball victory over the Sul Ross State (Texas) Lobos in a decisive three-set match on Saturday evening, to close out the two-day Pacific Coast Classic Volleyball Tournament. 

With less hitting errors in set-one, Sul Ross State pushed the Leopards to kick it into high gear, forcing La Verne to earn the game in extra point, 27-25.

Leopard freshman outside Maya Ray added 9 kills on the night, while sophomore Ha'ani Untalan fired off 6 aces and had 13 digs.

The La Verne Leopards will next see action against Puget Sound on their home court at 7pm, Friday, September 9th.
