LA VERNE, CA - Day one of the Pacific Coast Classic volleyball tournament started off with a win for the Leopards against the Linfield University Wildcats (25-16, 25-16, 30-28).

Hitting .250 overall, freshman outside Mya Ray began her college career as the only one on the court in double digit K column - with a game high 13 kills.

Senior setters Jordyn Patton and Emily Heldenbrand had 20 and 19 assists respectively, and sophomore Libero Madison Smith led both teams with 12 digs.

The match ended in exciting fashion with both teams battling to the very end of set 3, until La Verne closed it out 30-28 on a kill by senior outside Ayana Mier to give La Verne the win, 3-0.
