Leopards Back In Action At Home

La Verne, CA - After finishing up their home openers yesterday afternoon, the University of La Verne's softball team hosted Pacific Lutheran for their third game of the season.

The Leopards looked to add to their win last night, putting two wins in a row. The University of La Verne had great defensive plays, holding the Lutes to only one run scored after eight hits heading to the eighth inning. Both teams battled, making great defensive plays. The Leopards got down against Pacific Lutheran by a single-run homer to go down 1-2. The Leopards did not manage to bring in a run in the 8th and fell in a hard-fought battle 2-1. The Leopards had a total of 6 hits; all hits were by different players, great for a well-rounded batting day. Jocelyn Robertson faced 33 batters; she had 67 strikes out of her 99 pitches for the day. Jaylene Jaloma singled up the middle to bring in Alyssa Campbell for the Leopards for a run batted in.

The University of La Verne will host the University of Puget Sound Friday, February 17th, for a doubleheader at 3 and 5 pm.
