La Verne, CA - The University of La Verne softball team looked to sweep the series from the Pomona Pitzer Sagehens this weekend.

The Leopards hoped to rally with their win Friday evening, winning a well-fought battle taking the game in ten innings, and winning by a score of 5-2. The Leopards got to an early jump on game one leading by three points against the Saghens. La Verne would struggle after taking an early lead, giving up fourteen to end the game in a mercy loss. Isabella Bastien and Erika Garcia would go .500 for game one. The Leopards would bring in three pitchers trying to keep the game close. La Verne would ultimately fall to the Sagehens in the 5th inning by a score of 14-3.

Game two would consist of the Leopards struggling offensively. La Verne would not score until the 6th inning. Ashley Rodriguez and Erika Garcia would go 2-3 for the second game and would be the only players to get some offensive movement. The Leopards would fall 7-1 to the Sagehens.

The Leopards will take on Williams College Saturday, March 25th, for a non-conference series at 2 and 4 P.M.
