Laguna Niguel, CA - University of La Verne senior pitcher Rachel Rubio has been named the SCIAC Pitcher of the week.
Rubio recorded a victory and a save in two appearances as the University of La Verne swept a doubleheader against Williams College. The conference leader in both wins (eight) and saves (two), she threw 10 dominant innings in which she struck out 10 batters while surrendering just three hits and two walks.
This is the second time Rubio has won SCIAC Pitcher of the Week.
