Claremont, CA – The University of LA Verne softball team traveled to Claremont, California for a SCIAC matchup with Pomona-Pitzer.

Going 10 innings with the Sagehens, the Leopards won the game by a final score of 5-2.

The first 3 innings of the game would see the score locked at zero on both sides of the plate. Cailin Bliss would score the first run of the game for the Leopards off of an Erika Garcia single to give La Verne a 1-0 lead. Haylee Hsieh would single in the 7th inning to bring Mia Pintado in for a score to give La Verne a 2-1 lead. Three Leopard runs in the final inning would help them secure the victory. 

Mia Pintado led the Leopards with 2 RBIs in the game. Hayless Hsieh had 3 stolen bases while Taylor Gray added one stolen base. SCIAC Pitcher of the Week Rachel Rubio had 4 strikeouts for the Leopards in the victory.
